PEACH COBBLER

 PEACH COBBLER


INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 C. butter
  • 1 C all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 t. baking powder
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 1 C. sugar---halved
  • 1 C. milk
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 4 C. peaches--peeled, pitted, and sliced 
INSTRUCTIONS:

   Melt the stick of butter in an 8" x 8" baking dish in the oven as you pre-heat it.  Heat the peaches over medium heat with half of the sugar until sugar is dissolved and peaches are warm. Wisk flour, baking powder, salt, half of the sugar, and the milk, and vanilla; pour over the melted butter in the baking dish.  DO NOT STIR.   Spoon the peaches over the mixture.  DO NOT STIR, but splash the butter from the edges back onto the peaches.  

Bake at 350 degrees until brown and bubbly, about 40 minutes.  Then, I like to dot with butter and sprinkle some sugar/cinnamon mixture over it and bake another 8 - 10 minutes.
